
I’m Brandon Matthews—just a regular person with a passion for baking and a vision to build something bigger.
I grew up as the oldest in a big family, raised in a single-mother household where we didn’t have everything, but we always had love. That foundation taught me how to work hard, stay grounded, and keep pushing no matter what.
I started in the bakery world as a porter, cleaning and learning at Antoine’s Famous Cakes and Pastries. Over time, I worked my way up—mixing, working the tables, and eventually running production. From there, I continued building my craft across New Orleans, working in bakeries, donut shops, and grocery stores.
At Rouses Markets, I grew from a clerk to bakery manager, then into store leadership, and now into merchandising—helping multiple bakeries succeed across the region. I’ve led top-performing teams, turned stores around, and learned what it really takes to make this business work.
Now, I’m putting everything I’ve learned into The Real Pie Plug—a mobile bistro and bakery built on real hustle, real flavor, and real experience.
Most importantly, I do this for my two boys. They’re the reason I push every day.
I’m just someone who stayed consistent, trusted the process, and decided to bet on myself.
